Resource Centre

The Resource Centre of the Pastoral Services Department of the Archdiocese contains resources suitable for use in childrens sacramental preparation (geared both for children and for parents), marriage preparation, parental preparation for infant baptism, the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) program, high school ethics and social justice classes, and small faith sharing communities. Topics include church doctrine, the history and practice of the sacraments, spirituality, vocations (single, married, religious, and priesthood) and ethical issues including the social teachings of the Roman Catholic church.

The resource centre consists of a library of hardcopy and paperback books and an audio visual centre of over 300 video cassettes. Also available in the resource centre are audio cassettes, films, filmstrips, slides, and sound slides. Official church documents, reviews, periodicals, and newspapers are also maintained for reference purposes.

An updated catalogue (winter 2000) of the audio visual resources is available for purchase. A reference catalogue of library books will also be available.
