APPOINTMENTS
PASTORAL APPOINTMENTS
for the French Sector of the Archdiocese


His Grace Marcel Gervais, Archbishop of Ottawa, is pleased to announce the following pastoral appointments, effective July 4, 2006, unless otherwise noted. Priests are free to negotiate the specific date of their departures and arrivals, considering all the factors involved. Please note that there will be other appointments during the summer.

Diocesan Appointments

Rev. Doris Laplante, C.Ss.R., currently Chancellor, will become Episcopal Vicar for the French Sector, still remaining Chancellor.

Rev. Pierre Sabourin, archivist at the Diocesan Center, is retiring. Archbishop Gervais would like to take this opportunity to thank Rev. Sabourin for his many services at the Center. Rev. Sabourin will be available for replacement ministry.

PASTORAL REGION I

Msgr. Gilles Lavergne, P.H., Pastor of Sainte-Geneviève, Ottawa, is appointed Pastor of Saint-Sébastien, Ottawa, for a six-year term.

The community of the Marist Fathers, who has been doing ministry at this parish for the past 15 years, will be leaving the Archdiocese. Archbishop wishes to thank them for all the work they did in our Archdiocese.

Msgr. André Drouin, P.H., is granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Ste-Anne, Parish, Ottawa.

Rev. Gratien Girod is granted a three-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Ste-Famille Parish, Ottawa.

Rev. Jacques Huppé is granted a three-year extension of his appointment as pastor of La Nativité Parish, Ottawa.


PASTORAL REGION II

Rev. Louis Fohssié, while remaining Pastor of Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes Parish, Cyrville, is appointed Pastor of Saint-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort Parish, Ottawa, for a one-year term.

Saint-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort Parish will become a part of the Pastoral Region II as of September.

Rev Michel Pommainville, Pastor of Saint-Louis-Marie-de-Montfort Parish, Ottawa, is appointed Pastor of Sainte-Geneviève Parish, Ottawa, for a six-year term.

Msgr. Gérard St-Denis, P.H., currently Episcopal Vicar for the French Sector, is appointed Pastor of Saint-Thomas-dAquin Parish, Ottawa, for a six-year term.

Mr. Jonathan Blake, seminarist, will be doing his pastoral internship at Saint-Joseph Parish, Orléans, starting in September.

Saint-Laurent Parish, Carlsbad Springs : Rev. Roch Charbonneau has resigned as Administrator and Rev. Daniel Berniquez is appointed Pastor for a one-year term, while remaining Pastor of Sainte-Marie Parish, Orléans.

PASTORAL REGION III

Rev. Jacques Kabasu-Bamba, is granted a three-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Sainte-Euphémie Parish, Casselman, and Saint-Albert Parish.

Rev. Marcel Léger is granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Saint-Mathieu Parish, Hammond, and Sainte-Félicité Parish, Clarence Creek.

PASTORAL REGION IV

Rev. Bernard Lapointe, is granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Moderator of Saint-Joachim Parish, Chute-à-Blondeau, and Sainte-Anne-de-Prescott.
