March 28, 2022EASTER MESSAGE "WHY DO YOU SEEK THE LIVING AMONG THE DEAD? HE IS NOT HERE, BUT HAS RISEN". ST. LUKE RECOUNTS THE EASTER EVENTS WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE EMPTY TOMB. IN ITSELF IT IS NOT A DIRECT PROOF OF THE RESURRECTION BUT THE EMPTY TOMB WAS STILL AN ESSENTIAL SIGN FOR ALL. ITS DISCOVERY BY THE DISCIPLES WAS THE FIRST STEP TOWARD RECOGNIZING THE FACT OF THE RESURRECTION. THIS WAS THE CASE, FIRST WITH THE WOMEN AND THEN WITH PETER. THEIR FAITH ENABLES THEM TO SEE AND GIVE TESTIMONY TO THE RISEN LORD. ST. JOHN EXPRESSES IT IN THIS WAY. HE SAW AND BELIEVED. THIS WAS NOT OF HUMAN ORIGIN BUT GOD'S WORK RAISING CHRIST TO LIFE. IN THESE FIFTY DAYS OF THE SEASON OF EASTER MAY WE BE JOYFILLED MESSENGERS OF JESUS UNITED IN CHARITY AND FULFILLING HIS MANDATE OF SERVICE TO OUR SISTERS AND BROTHERS. THANK YOU TO ALL IN THE SERVICE OF THE LORD WHO SHARE YOUR GIFTS WITH OTHERS AND STRENGTHEN THE COMMUNITY OF THE CHURCH OF OTTAWA BY YOUR DAILY WITNESS. REV.
