PASTORAL APPOINTMENTS FOR THE ENGLISH SECTOR: His Grace, Archbishop Prendergast is pleased to announce the following pastoral appointments for the English Sector, which become effective on December 1, 2022 unless otherwise indicated or otherwise arranged by the priests involved:

Rev. Pierre Champoux has been granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Holy Name of Mary, Almonte.

Rev. Giles Joly, currently Pastor of St. Catherine, Metcalfe, is appointed Pastor of St. Philips, Richmond and St. Clare Mission, Dwyer Hill for a six-year term.

Rev. Kevin Milaney has been granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary, Ottawa.

Rev. Jessimar Tapia has been granted a one-year extension of his appointment as Pastor of St. Peters, Ottawa.

Rev. Daniel Dubroy is appointed Hospital Chaplain.

Rev. Anthony Hannon is appointed Administrator of St. Catherines, Metcalfe, and Associate Pastor at St. Andrews, Barrhaven (September 1, 2022).

Rev. Daryl Kennedy is appointed Pastoral Administrator of St. Margaret Mary, Cumberland in addition to his responsibilities as pastor of St. Edith Stein, Rockland.

Rev. Tim McCauley is appointed part-time Director of Vocations in addition to his responsibilities as pastor of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal, Russell.

Rev. Gerard Monaghan is granted a leave of absence for teaching.

Rev. Mark Slatter, currently Pastor of St. Philips, Richmond and St. Clares, Dwyer Hill, is appointed Director of Adult Faith Formation.

Rev. Adam Tabak has been granted a one-year extension as Pastor of St. Leopold Mandic Croatian Community.

Rev. Fr. Vernon Boyd, SJ is appointed Administrator of Good Shepherd Parish, Blackburn Hamlet.

Rev. Fr. Timothy Devine, CC is appointed Associate Pastor at St. Marys (Our Lady of Good Counsel), Ottawa.

Rev. Fr. Herman Falke, SCJ. has been granted a one-year extension as Pastor of St. Brigids, Manotick Station, and St. John the Evangelist, Osgoode.

Rev. Fr. Daniel Hawkins, MSF has been granted a one-year extension as Pastor of St. Martin de Porres, Nepean.

Rev. Fr. Richard Kelly, OMI has been granted a one-year extension as Pastor of St. Joseph, Ottawa.

Rev. Fr. Janusz Jajesniak, OMI is appointed Pastor of St. Hyacinth, Polish Community, Ottawa, for a six-year term.

Rev. Fr. Antonio Pannunzi, OMI has been granted a three-year extension as Pastor of Madonna della Risurrezione.

Rev. Fr. Roger Vandenakker, CC is appointed Pastor of St. Marys (Our Lady of Good Counsel), Ottawa, for a six-year term.

Rev. Thomas Riopelle, Pastor of St. Patricks, Fallowfield, is granted sabbatical leave at a time to be determined in the coming Pastoral Year.

Mr. Daniel Grech (Malta) will do his pastoral internship with Rev. Frank Brewer at Divine Infant Parish, Orleans.

Mr. Hezuk Shroff, seminarian, will do his pastoral internship with Rev. Maurice Dionne at the parish of Saint-Rémi.

DIOCESAN FEAST DAY: This celebration marks the anniversary of the foundation of our Diocese. All are invited to the celebration at Notre Dame Cathedral on Wednesday, June 25, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a welcome of the participants who attended the 49th International Eucharistic Congress as well as a send off for the World Youth Day Pilgrims. Parishes are asked to bring the banner identifying your community and assign two (2) parishioners to carry your banner.

RINGING OF CHURCH BELLS: Archbishop Prendergast has asked that the churches of our diocese ring the bells, as a gesture of solidarity and celebration, on Thursday, July 3, 11:00 a.m. in honour of the 400th Anniversary of the foundation of Quebec, which is the cradle of the Catholic Church in Canada.

FRIDAY FAX: The last Friday Fax before summer will be June 27. The fax will resume on December 29.

CLOSING OF THE PASTORAL YEAR: Diocesan staff and volunteers will gather for Mass followed by lunch on Friday, June 27 to celebrate the closing of the pastoral year. The Diocesan Centre will close at 12:00 noon on Friday, June 27 and reopen on Wednesday, July 2 at 8:30 a.m.
