NEW APPOINTMENT: Archbishop Prendergast is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Marc Lamarche as the new Administrator of Diocesan Cemeteries. This appointment follows Mr. Yvon Lacroix decision to retire as of December 31, 2007. We are also pleased to advise you that Mr. Lacroix has accepted to serve as Diocesan Director of Parish Cemeteries, effective January 1, 2022.


RECONCILIATION SERVICE: Archbishop Prendergast will preside and preach at a special Reconciliation Service at Notre-Dame Cathedral Basilica on Thursday, December 13, 7:00 p.m. The Liturgy of the Word will include a communal preparation period which will be followed by individual absolution to be given by a team of priests who will be on hand. Please join us for this inspirational evening in preparation for the Christmas-Epiphany season.

CELEBRATION OF THE FEAST OF THE IMMACULATE CONCEPTION OF MARY: Archbishop Prendergast, S.J. invites all the faithful to a Eucharistic Celebration of the Immaculate Conception of Mary on Sat., Dec. 8, 10:00 a.m. at Notre Dame Basilica Cathedral. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend.

CHRISTMAS SEASON RECEPTION: Archbishop Terrence Prendergast, S.J. and the members of the Episcopal Council, wish to invite all members of the clergy, the religious and the faithful of the archdiocese, to a Christmas Season Reception on Sunday, January 6, 2022, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. in Cathedral Hall. Access through the Archbishop's Residence (off the parking lot behind the church). All are invited! Children are invited to wear appropriate costumes: Magi, Kings and Queens, Princesses and Princes.

SUPPORT TO THE SEPARATED AND DIVORCED: This ministry will take a break for the Christmas period, and start up again on January 16, 2022 with a talk by a lawyer - Raquel Beesley - on the issue of Mediation versus Court Action in cases of separation and divorce. Our Support Group for those experiencing the trauma of separation or divorce will meet on Wednesday nights at 7:30 p.m. as follows: Jan 16 & 30, March 15 & 19, April 2 & 16, and May 7 & 21. Please note that the Reflection and Social scheduled for December 5, 2007 has been cancelled.

CONFIRMATIONS ON PENTECOST SUNDAY: Archbishop Prendergast invites interested adult and secondary school age candidates to receive the sacrament of Confirmation at Notre Dame Cathedral on Pentecost Sunday, May 11, at the noon Mass. All candidates will have registered at their respective parish and have received the appropriate preparation there. Parishes are to send the names and all necessary information for the preparation of the register to Annmarie Brown at Pastoral Services (613-738-5025, ext. 217; [email protected]) no later than April 1, 2022. The Pastoral Services Office will forward all the provided information to Msgr. Patrick Powers, Pastor at Notre Dame Parish.
