VSO SHARING SKILLS, CHANGING LIVES: WOULD YOU MAKE THE JOURNEY? Alana ODonnell (daughter of Deacon Hugh ODonnell), a parishioner at St. Patricks Parish, Fallowfield, will soon be departing for an exciting volunteer assignment in Cameroon with Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO). VSO volunteers work in partnership with people in more than 30 developing countries, contributing to development goals in Education, HIV and AIDS, Disability, Health and Social Well-being, Secure Livelihoods and Participation and Governance. VSO Canada also contributes to innovative volunteering initiatives such as Youth Volunteering, National Volunteering and Business Partnerships. With partners and placements in Africa, Asia and the South Pacific, VSO Canada places skilled volunteers overseas in more than 60 occupations, from accountants to water engineers, and provides volunteers with comprehensive training and support package.
